The Chawtsky-Farber Post 717 of the Jewish War Veterans of America were invited to participate in the Samaritan Village groundbreaking ceremonies on September 23, 2009for the new 25 bed female veteran residential treatment center in Ellenville, NY. On November 22,2009 A delegation of 14 veterans led by Susan Devito and Ed Fennel came to the monthly Sunday breakfast meeting to award the Post with a shovel used at the groundbreaking ceremonies. There were 145 attendees at this breakfast. State Senator Dean Skelos, the Republican leader of the NY senate gave an inspiring speech. Accepting the shovel for the Post were PC John Robbins, Buddy Epstein, Rudy Schwartz, Al Chanon and Bert Abbey. |
